Problem

You would like to adapt your analysis methods and your development processes to object technology, by altering an existing system based on Merise.

Process

• Analysis of the use of Merise within the methodological platform (diagrams, methods)
• Rework of the analysis model, in order to change to a method centred on use cases and UML:
  - top / down analysis by process
  - iterative analysis with successive refinements
• Rework of your design method:
  - transcribing the Merise diagrams to UML
  - transition from the "data / processing" approach to one using objects and components
  - putting the architecture at the centre of the design: design patterns, frameworks
• Rework of the development process:
  - choosing of a UML method (UP, 2TUP, UMM, OFP)
  - designing a methodology guide that takes into account the teams' experience and the IS constraints
• Textbook case on an existing application or a pilot project
• Evaluation study of the existing system, if necessary
